ART ON OSSINGTON
Three mini-fairs on Ossington Avenue in August
Late August is when it's at on Ossington. Lennox Contemporary is hosting three unique, boutique sized art fairs at it's spacious gallery located at Queen and Ossington. AWOL, the pioneering art force on the street, holds it's amazing annual fundraiser, the Square Foot Show, with a huge opening at 100 Ossington Ave. on Saturday the 15th, running until the end of the month. The exhibition of hundreds of 12"x12" artworks fill the walls at 100 Ossington until the end of the month. There will be continued weekend action at Rolly's Garage's hipster flea markets. Then there are all the other shows at the galleries up the street and spilling onto Dundas West. The street is also home to the cities coolest vintage and design shops.
The three mini-fairs at Lennox contemporary are each uniquely themed and installed 'Salon' style, with the artists in attendance to sell and dialogue their work.
The weekend of August 14-16 is themed "BIG'. The work is all 48" square or bigger and offers a fun contrast to AWOL's square foot show.
The following weekend, August 21-23 showcases "Emerging" artists and consists of talented artists who have had limited exposure in galleries.
Finally, August 28-30 there is "Paper" featuring prints, drawings, photography and a number of other exciting paper based work.
